When I was a kid a Power Wheels-style ride-on toy car would have blown my mind. I can’t imagine the impact a handmade Lamborghini Sian carved out of wood would have had on me.

As an adult, I can tell you that the attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into making this Lamborghini Sian is stunning. And in order to really appreciate it, the ND-Woodworking Art YouTube channel has a number of videos outlining the build.

Interestingly, this isn’t the channel’s first wooden ride-on toy car. The creator has also made a similar Bugatti Chiron and a BMW 328 Hommage but when you think about it, the hybrid Sian is even better suited to this treatment. As Lamborghini’s first hybrid, its supercapacitors and lithium-ion battery pack are an excellent thematic fit for this electric toy.

The car is made almost entirely of wood apart from the drivetrain, which looks a bit like a go-kart’s albeit with a small electric motor. It also has an inboard disc brake that looks like it might have come from a bicycle and the wheels are shod in little rubber tires .

Despite the inboard brake being the functional one, the detail on this build means that the woodworker also makes simulated drilled brake discs that stay still in a hollow wheel behind the hand-carved rims.

He also goes to great trouble to get the Sian’s distinctive lighting elements just right with little LED recreations. And the electrics don’t even stop there, as the doors even open and close automatically.

In the end, the car might not go quickly enough to worry the world’s first street-legal Power Wheels, the YSA-021 Super Sport XXL, but it does support the weight of the adult-sized woodworker who made it, meaning that you, too, might be able to cruise in one of these.
