For all the guff that Mustangs get on the internet, the truth is that many sports cars meet an untimely end. Take, for instance, this 2021 Chevrolet Corvette available on IAA.
The totaled C8 Corvette was in a front-end collision that pretty much ruined the front half of the car. Although the rear wasn’t completely spared, it’s possible that the engine could still be in reasonable condition. Secondary damage in the form of a “biohazard” is pretty grisly, though, and doesn’t really bear thinking about.
The C8 Corvette is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 making 490 hp at 6,450 rpm and 465 lb-ft of torque at 5,150 rpm. So, it packs plenty of poke for an engine swap, provided that it’s salvageable of course.

Although the damage on the rear lefthand side of the car would suggest that the transaxle is in less than brand-new condition, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the engine can’t be used for a swap.
You could go the Group B route and take the back seats out of a hot hatch to put this engine in their place like the world’s most Americanized Renault 5 Turbo. Putting it into something like an MX-5 would make for a very interesting project as well.
