The current Toyota Tundra has been on sale since 2007, and it has only received minor updates in those 14 years. Thankfully, the truck will be completely new for the 2022 model year, and this set of renderings attempts to predict how it will look.
The images come courtesy of Kolesa and they depict the upcoming Tundra with a muscular, squared-off look that’s more in line with its domestic competitors. The renderings are based on both Toyota’s own teasers as well as spy shots of the truck, so the actual truck could look something like this.

Out front, the truck features a large angular grille like the Tacoma and 4Runner, and the headlights now have a vertical component similar to those on the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado. In the rear, the lights are now C-shaped and the tailgate features much more prominent “Tundra” lettering. The side profile seems to remain largely the same, with the only exceptions being the boxier stamped fenders and kink in the window line.

Toyota recently dropped this teaser of the 2022 Tundra truck
The new Tundra will ride on the same F1 architecture set to underpin the next-gen versions of the Tacoma, 4Runner, and Sequoia, and power will be provided by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, likely the same one found in the new Land Cruiser. If that’s the case, it will be good for 409 hp (415 PS / 305 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque.
The 2022 Toyota Tundra is expected to make its debut in the fourth quarter of this year and go on sale in December.
