The first picture of the latest color to be introduced to the Camaro lineup has landed. Shared by Atom Barry, a designer with GM, the color is one of two new colors coming to the Camaro lineup next year.

The car seen here is optioned with the level 2 appearance package and, according to Barry, that will mean it’s available with all of the content that was exclusive to the Wild Cherry Package in 2021. It will have that in common with the other new color for 2022, Rapid Blue, which was previewed earlier this year at Daytona, where it performed pace car duties.

The Wild Cherry package was available on LT and LZ trims and came with forged aluminum wheels with the Camaro shield on the center cap, hash marks over the front fenders, Camaro fender badges, and Camaro floor mats with silver edging. In 2021, it cost $2,145.

The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro in Rapid Blue

The price of the Vivid Orange paint, sans appearance package, has not been revealed but the shade of orange it replaces, Crush, was a $395 option on its own. Rapid Blue, meanwhile, replaces Shock, a yellowish green hue, which was also a $395 option.

Overall, the Camaro isn’t changing much for 2022, though a few tweaks are coming to the trim options. The 1LE performance track package, for instance, will no longer be available on four- and six-cylinder Camaros. A new Design Package 3 will allow buyers to get satin black hood stripes, a black fuel filler cap, and Camaro-branded center caps for the wheels. Copper-free performance brake pads will also become available and are 50-state compliant.

Camaro production has been stopped a few times this year as a result of the ongoing chip shortage, which pushed back production for the 2022 model from July 14 to September 20.
