Apple has been forced to reroute the shuttle buses it operates for employees after a series of attacks.

Mashable reports that the shuttle buses that run between San Francisco to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino have been targeted and their windows broken. One Apple employee speculatited that the culprit could be firing rubber rounds at the buses.

In response, Apple emailed employees confirming that the buses will temporarily be rerouted from highway 280, potentially adding 30-45 minutes of additional travel time in each direction for some users.

“As always, the safety of our employees is our first priority. We’re working closely with law enforcement to investigate these incidents and we’ll notify you as soon as the coaches are able to return to the regular route. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the tech company said.

Neither Apple nor local police have determined a cause for the broken windows. However, officer Art Montiel from the California Highway Patrol said the authorities are working with Apple to investigate.

At least four of the company’s employee shuttles have suffered broken windows while driving on highway 280 on January 12 and January 16. On the same stretch of highway, a Google shuttle bus also had windows broken earlier this week.
