Bentley has teamed up with sim racing hardware manufacturer Fanatec to produce a steering wheel that’s not only compatible with sim racing hardware, but Bentley’s Continental GT3 Pike’s Peak race car as well.
The Bentley GT3 steering wheel is constructed of carbon fiber and magnesium alloy to not only give it an authentic look, but also to make sure it holds up for its real-world racing duties.
Some of its design details include knurling on the rotary encoders, a forged carbon display bezel, two 7-way FunkySwitch directional sticks with encoder functionality, aluminum thumb wheels with optical encoders, and four magnetic paddles. Additionally, it features a large circular telemetry display in the center to provide the driver with relevant information.

As mentioned before, the wheel will be used in the actual Bentley Continental GT3 for its Pike’s Peak run this weekend, but for the rest of us at home, it can be mounted on any of Fanatec’s wheel bases or displayed on a wall or desk using the included mount. There hasn’t been any word yet on pricing or availability, but given its characteristics, we imagine it will be neither cheap nor plentiful.
Regarding the release of the wheel, Thomas Jackermeier, CEO of Fanatec parent company Endor AG said: “This is the most advanced wheel we’ve ever made, and it will be used in a car which is simply stunning and the definition of cool. We had the honor of making an iconic wheel for an iconic car to race at the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and our customers can be part of it and drive the exact same wheel in a simulator.”
