While Travis Pastrana’s Subaru WRX STI wasn’t built solely for straight-line acceleration, it has proven itself to be extraordinarily fast off the line, easily defeating all comers on Hoonigan’s ‘This vs That’ series. However, this bright pink Nissan GT-R proved to be a little too much for it.
The GT-R in question is owned by drag racer Brooke Berini and has been extensively modified by AMS Performance, arguably the leader in lifting the GT-R to new performance heights. It also has a chrome pink wrap, ensuring the car stands out from all other modified Nissan GT-Rs out there.
As Berini tells Hoonigan in the lead-up to her races against Pastrana, the car’s twin-turbocharged V6 has been stroked to 4.3-liters and it has been equipped with new turbochargers, alongside a plethora of other modifications. It pumps out a cool 1,200 hp and was running on drag radial tires throughout this video.

As you may know by now, Pastrana’s Subaru WRX STI Gymkhana car has a custom 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder muscling out 862 hp. It is also all-wheel drive but whereas the GT-R has a dual-clutch transmission, the Subaru features a six-speed Sadev sequential gearbox.
In the first race across 1,000 feet, Pastrana nails the launch and opens up a gap to the GT-R but as the speeds start to build, the GT-R quickly closes in and passes the Subaru, claiming an easy victory. In the second race, this time across 500 feet, both cars get off the line neck and neck and it is the Nissan that again takes the victory.
