Designed by Henrik Fisker and produced in just 5,703 units from 1999 to 2003, including 2,543 shipped to the States, the BMW Z8 is on the wish list of many Bimmer enthusiasts.

The spiritual successor of the iconic 507 has retro styling, a lightweight aluminum space frame chassis and body panels and is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 sourced from the M5 E39, which develops 400hp.

RMSothebys has a 2001 example in almost-new condition listed for their Paris auction, which takes place on February 7. Purchased new by an undisclosed Italian BMW Touring Car Champion, who has held on to it until this day, it has 28,500km (17,709 miles) on the odo, as proved by the full service history that accompanies it.

The auction house describes this Z8 as being “in exceptional condition”, adding that the winning bidder will also get the “desirable original factory hardtop and stand”.

The German roadster is estimated to fetch between £180,000 and £240,000, which equals to $249,371-$332,495 at today’s exchange rates, so besides the warm clothes, don’t forget to bring your chequebook if you’re planning on going to Paris and bid for it.
