In a bid to see which high-powered Mercedes-Benz model can keep up with a 1,200 HP Aventador, the trio took to a really long stretch of asphalt in Russia.

As it’s customary during Unlim 500+ events, cars race over a distance of half a mile, although their 1/4 mile time is also taken into consideration, as is their time over a distance of 60 feet (18.2 meters) and 330 feet (100.6 meters), plus the drivers’ reaction times.

First to challenge the Aventador was an older W211 Mercedes E55 AMG, putting down a hefty 750 HP. Despite a better reaction time from the E55’s driver, the older Merc had a hard time keeping up with the Lambo.

The one that actually stood out was the slightly less powerful 700HP CLS63 AMG 4MATIC, with the Ramon Performance tune, as it managed to beat the 1,200 HP Aventador not just off the line, but also for the first hundred or so meters (330 feet).

Its 1/4 mile time wasn’t bad either, but overall, the GAD Motors-tuned Lambo performed really well over that distance, especially in the first race when it did a 9.875. In drag racing terms, a sub 10-second time is stock hypercar territory. Or, come to think of it, McLaren 720S territory.
