A couple of weeks ago, a rare 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec painted in Midnight Purple II sold for a remarkable $315,187 on Bring A Trailer. Now, a near-identical GT-R V-Spec has hit the popular auction site but this one will probably sell for even more.

Whereas the example sold in June had had roughly 64,000 km (~40,000 miles) on the clock, this latest one has only ever been driven 25,000 km (~15,000 miles), inevitably increasing its desirability and value.

The listing reveals that the car was imported from Japan to Canada in 2015 and acquired by the seller’s father in January 2020. It is now being offered with manuals, Japanese auction paperwork, importation documents, a Show or Display exemption, a CarVX report, and a clean New York title.

There are only 4,194 R34 Skyline GT-R models that received the V-Spec treatment and of these, just 282 were finished in Midnight Purple II. This example sits on the original 18-inch six-spoke wheels and sports Toyo Proxes T1R tires from 2011. It also features gold-colored Brembo brake calipers.

Very few modifications have been made although the cabin does feature a Kenwood M707 stereo and a Kenwood VZ907 pop-out touchscreen display with navigation. Given how little the car has been driven, it’s hardly a surprise that the interior is in excellent condition, including the sport seats clad in texted gray upholstery with suede inserts.

Power comes courtesy of a 2.6-liter twin-turbocharged RB26 inline-six with individual throttle bodies that produced 276 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. However, as with other JDM performance car, the engine’s output could actually be higher, as the official figure was dictated by the gentlemen’s agreement between Japanese car manufacturers and, in many cases, has been proven to be conservative.
