Jeep, like many of Stellantis‘ child companies today, have revealed their plans for an electrified future. They plan to offer at least one zero-emissions vehicle in every SUV segment by 2025, and are aiming for 70% of all vehicles sold by then to be at least partially electrified.
The automaker has already begun that push with vehicles like the Wrangler 4xe, but not too far on the horizon is their newly-revealed Grand Cherokee 4xe, which will be sold for the 2022 model year.

The plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee will make its full debut at the New York Auto Show In August, and will span the full range of the Grand Cherokee lineup. Interestingly, this also seems to have been a quiet reveal of the two-row Grand Cherokee as well, as we haven’t actually seen any official media yet of the SUV in non-L guise.
Additionally, based on their presentation for Stellantis’ EV Day, it appears the “4xe” name will not only be used for their hybrid models, but also their full-electric ones as well from here on out. Essentially a sort of sub-brand for their electrified models, but not quite fully separated from Jeep proper.

Another part of their promise to offer an EV in every SUV segment comes in the form of the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer, which they say will spawn a full-electric variant by their 2025 target. In addition, Jeep will be following through with their earlier promise to install solar charging stations out on trails in order to further the push towards electrification in that segment.
