The BMW E30 3-Series has only been going up in value, with quite a few fetching quite high prices at auction. And while many of these cars are exceptionally clean, likely none of them are in as good shape as this 318i convertible that received a comprehensive detailing and dry ice cleaning from I Am Detailing, leaving it looking virtually brand new.

They start with the underbody, cleaning things like the spare tire carrier, wheel arches, exhaust pipes, suspension, transmission housing, and other miscellaneous items in addition to the general chassis. As they show the before and after, the result looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. After that, they move on to restoring the rear windshield, which requires a bit more skill than usual since it’s a flexible part on the soft convertible top. They hit it with an orbital buffer and polishing compound, and it goes from scratched up to perfectly transparent.

They then mask the car and remove all the trim pieces, all with the goal of making the paint correction process easier. Additionally, the 318i badge is from an E36 3-Series instead of an E30, so they remove that figuring they’ll replace it later. They then perform the paint correction and manage to take the black paint from a sea of scratches and swirls to a near-mirror finish. They do the same to the trunk underneath all the sound deadening material, and even go so far as to straighten out and de-rust the bent tools in the tool kit.

Finally, they remove the BMW‘s dents, apply a full ceramic coating, dry ice clean the engine bay and interior, and put everything back together.

It’s rare to see this level of detail put into the restoration of even some hugely more expensive vehicles, and you can watch the incredibly comprehensive process for yourself in the video below.
