The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is a true icon and a custom fabrication shop in Los Angeles recently finished work on a Camaro restomod unlike any other.
Featured in this video from AutotopiaLA, the Camaro in question features a plethora of new body panels, all of which have been hand-made from metal. The exterior design may not be to everyone’s taste, particularly the front and rear fascias, but the bright orange and grey paint job certainly makes it stand out.
One of the most significant changes made to the bodywork is the fitment of an all-new hood. This hood was designed to fit over the new engine and what an engine it is.

Driving the Chevy is an LS9 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that was originally produced for the sixth-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. A host of changes have been made to this engine so it now pumps out 730 hp. A car with so much power needs some bid brakes so Vintage Fabrication turned to Wilwood to fit large brakes, including six-piston front calipers.
The presenter from AutotopiaLA is especially fond of all the custom fabrication work made to the exterior of the car, especially the aggressive lip spoiler. The craftsmanship continues into the cabin of the car where there are brand new seats clad in beautiful black leather.
The car is an absolute beast to drive although it does have one thing we’re not so fond of, an automatic transmission, with the reviewer also noting that he’d much rather tell the transmission when he wants to shift than have it shift for him, particularly in a car like this.
