The W123 Mercedes E-Class doesn’t typically tend to get as much love as later generations when it comes to tuning. That likely has to do with limited aftermarket support, but when a modified one does come along, it’s almost guaranteed to be a head-turner. Case in point is this W123 280CE, which features bright yellow paintwork, a Zender body kit, and numerous AMG touches.
The 1983 Mercedes 280CE is listed for sale on eBay and it shows 126,000 km (78,293 miles) on the odometer. The car recently underwent a comprehensive service, which included things like new brake fluid and hoses, new brake rotors and pads, a new fuel pump and filter, and new tires. According to the seller, it was garage-kept its entire life and is in immaculate shape.

The exterior is finished in yellow with black decals, a color scheme that highlights both its B-pillarless design and Zender body kit quite well. The kit includes everything from new bumpers to a rear lip spoiler, and it pairs nicely with the AMG Aero I monoblock wheels to make for an aggressive yet period correct look. The car also has H&R lowering springs with new shocks for a slightly lower ride.

Inside is a full black leather interior that features an AMG steering wheel, as well as Zebrano wood trim. The interior as a whole is said to be “as good as new” by the seller, and we’d be inclined to agree, as there’s not a single tear and almost no creases to speak of.
Under the hood is a 2.8-liter inline-six engine that appears to be unmodified. It makes 182 hp (185 PS / 136 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque, and sends that power to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission, allowing the car to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 9.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h).
