Donkervoort has announced plans to introduce a new model on September 9th.
The company is keeping details under wraps, but they released a short teaser video that suggests the car will be based on the D8 and feature a familiar design. However, there does appear to be some minor changes including revised taillights.
That isn’t much to go on, but the automaker said “Any company can sell you one of their cars. Only Donkervoort can create your car.” That seems to suggest the upcoming model will offer extensive customization, but we’ll find out more in the coming months.

Little else is known about the car, but the current crop of D8 models features an Audi-sourced 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine that produces 415 hp (310 kW / 421 PS) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed sequential gearbox. This enables them to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
While a lot of questions remain, there’s little doubt the upcoming model will be expensive. If the D8 GTO-JD70 is any indication, we can expect the car to cost around €198,000 ($233,907 / £169,770) including a 21% VAT.
