Volkswagen introduced the facelifted Tiguan earlier this year and now the company has announced pricing will start at $25,995 when it arrives at U.S. dealerships in the third quarter.

Costing $750 more than its predecessor, the entry-level 2022 Tiguan S features a more expressive front end with restyled LED headlights. The rest of the model largely carries over, but the crossover rides on updated 17-inch alloy wheels.

Moving into the cabin, drivers will find newly standard heated front seats and a digital instrument cluster with an 8-inch display. Other highlights include a keyless access system with a push button ignition, a 6.5-inch MIB2 infotainment system and a six-speaker audio system.

Buyers will also find a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a wireless smartphone charger, and a modern MIB3 infotainment system with an 8-inch display as well as voice recognition technology and wireless App-Connect.

Speaking of technology, the Tiguan SE comes standard with a suite of driver assistance systems. Highlights include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Active Blind Spot Monitor and a Lane Keeping System. The model also has Travel Assist and Emergency Assist.

One step up is the Tiguan SE R-Line Black, which begins at $32,295. It features a more aggressive exterior with R-Line bumpers and 19-inch wheels with a black finish. Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an ambient lighting system and Park Distance Control.

Sitting at the top of the range is the $36,595 Tiguan SEL R-Line, which costs $2,500 less than its predecessor despite featuring additional equipment.  Speaking of which, the model comes standard with all-wheel drive as well as 20-inch alloy wheels. Customers will also find an adaptive front lighting system, automatic high beams, a bird’s eye view camera, park assist and street sign recognition technology.

The upgrades don’t end there as the model has a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and GPS navigation. Other niceties include a heated steering wheel, heated / ventilated front seats, an eight-way power passenger seat and a Fender premium audio system.

Regardless of which trim is selected, all Tiguans are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 184 hp (137 kW / 187 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system for $1,500. Opting for the latter means giving up the third-row of seats, which is available exclusively on front-wheel drive variants.
