The Lotus Emira and Evija, two very important models for the British car manufacturer, are heading to Monterey Car Week.

This won’t be the first time that the all-electric Evija has featured at Monterey Car Week as it was presented during the festivities back in 2019. However, the Evija heading to this year’s event, including The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering, is particularly special as it has a striking yellow and blue paint scheme inspired by the 1987 Lotus Type 99T that was driven by Ayrton Senna to victory at the Detroit Grand Prix.

As for the Lotus Emira, it is the last petrol-powered model that the automaker will ever build and will also feature at The Quail. It will also make its track debut at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca later in the week.

The Emira is the successor to the Evora and will also fill the void left behind by the discontinued Elise and Exige. It is based on a new version of the company’s bonded and riveted aluminum chassis and has the same 101.4-inch (2,575 mm) wheelbase as the Evora. Entry-level models will be powered by a Mercedes-AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 360 hp that’s coupled to AMG’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Those seeking more performance will be able to buy the Emira with a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 with 395 hp and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm). This engine can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.

The Radford Type 62-2 will also be showcased to the world for the first time during Monterey Car Week. The car has been created through a collaboration with Lotus Engineering and has a Lotus-sourced aluminum chassis. It is powered by the same 3.5-liter supercharged V6 as the Emira which has been upgraded and will be offered in 430 hp, 500 hp, and 600 hp configurations. Production of the sports car will be capped at just 62 units.
