Get A Better Look At The 2022 Hyundai Custo Minivan For China

A host of new images of Hyundai’s China-destined Custo minivan have emerged online prior to its scheduled unveiling at China’s Chengdu Auto Show later this month.

Hyundai released a handful of teaser images last month but it has actually been 12 months since the first photos of the vehicle were leaked online in China. These new images show the car in previously-unseen detail and it’s hard to deny that as minivans go, the Custo is one of the most eye-catching.

Found at the front of the vehicle is a grille very similar to the Tucson and Santa Cruz, complete with hidden LED daytime running lights. The Custo also features sharp headlights and has a strip of chrome connecting them.

Cast your eyes along the side of the minivan and you will notice squared-off wheel arches and dramatic design lines running across the doors. Hyundai has continued its bold design choices across the rear of the Custo with LED taillights, an LED light bar, and a silver piece in the center of the bumper. There is also a subtle spoiler stretching out from the roof.

Images of the Custo’s interior have also emerged online. It includes a four-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a portrait-oriented 10.4-inch infotainment screen vastly different than any other current Hyundai model. We can also see buttons as opposed to a traditional shifter, as well as a floating transmission tunnel that sits above a large storage cubby.

Powertrain details haven’t been confirmed but it is reported that Hyundai will offer the Custo with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with 170 hp and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 236 hp.
