Just as Honda is set to pull out of Formula 1 again at the end of this season, a new collection of officially licensed clothing celebrating their 1983 return to the sport has been released.

The collection is inspired by the colorful Honda team gear from the 1983 Formula 1 season. They may also appeal to Max Verstappen fans given their similarity to the Dutch flag and his current Honda engine.

The collection is limited to just four items, but they all look pretty great. There’s a T-shirt, a polo, a hoodie (which is currently sold out), and a Honda F1 Racing Team logo sticker. Honda Vintage Culture is a collaboration between Honda and Vintage Culture. Their partnership follows a similar one that brought apparel inspired by the brand’s first stint in F1 between 1964 and 1968.

Fifteen years later, in 1983, Honda made its return to the sport. At first testing a turbocharged V6 engine, the team’s full return to competition came in 1984 and marked the automaker’s most successful period in F1 with teams running Honda engines winning the constructor’s championship every year between 1986 and 1991.

The collection comes from enthusiast and designer Patrick Calello and is officially licensed by American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

“We’re building on the success of our 1960s Honda F1 collection and are excited to introduce a 1980s-inspired collection for fans of racing and of the Honda brand,” said Calello, founder of Vintage Culture.

The items can be bought through participating Honda dealerships and enthusiast shops, as well as on the Honda Vintage Culture website.
