The Divo is a seriously expensive hypercar. Only 40 examples were produced in Molsheim between 2020 and 2021 with prices starting from €5 million ($5.8 million at the time of its launch). So you can imagine how careful one must be while driving the Divo on public roads. One Divo owner, however, managed to hit a parked Mercedes-Benz CLS with the rear bumper of their limited-production hypercar, albeit at very low speed.
The incident happened outside the Westin Paris – Vendôme hotel in Paris in front of a crowd of people. Naturally, everything was caught on video, shot by @ledriviste and later posted on Instagram by @supercar.fails.

As we can see, the driver of the Divo backs up too much and its rear end touches the front end of the Mercedes. Then the car moves forward and a bystander – possibly a hotel employee – approaches to access the damage. He doesn’t seem to notice any marks on the parked Mercedes so he proceeds in helping the Divo driver safely unpark the hypercar. The available space looks quite large but we guess that the driver wanted to make sure he/she doesn’t get too close with the white Porsche 918 Spyder that was parked in front.

An incident like this would mean nothing if we talked about everyday vehicles. Most of us have witnessed cars touching each other while parking and, most of the times, leaving no bents or marks on them – and even when they do, they are minor and most of the times can be buffed out. However, there is a different case with the Divo which has a body entirely made of carbon fiber, with the rear end featuring complex structures, a prominent diffuser, and quad exhaust pipes made of titanium.
There is a chance that the ultra-low speed of the impact and a possible paint-protection film prevented the car from sustaining any damage. However, even the slightest scratch on the precious carbon-fiber piece would cost a hefty amount of money to repair. Better be more careful next time, then…
