Except for a few updates, the current Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has been around in its current form since 2006, but that’s all about to change in a few days as a new generation is fast approaching.

Teased on social media, the third generation light commercial vehicle will be unveiled next Tuesday, on February 6, in Duisburg, Germany, promising to be better overall than its predecessor.

On the outside, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter appears to have evolved, with plenty of changes made at the front, including new headlights and a generously-sized grille, with a large 3-pointed star logo taking center stage.

Elsewhere, the light commercial vehicle, expected to arrive as a passenger van, cargo van, and cab chassis, will be a bit more aerodynamic compared to the current models, and this can be seen in spy shots and previous teasers.

The interior of the van was already revealed last month, and it gets a significant overhaul, with a new infotainment system sitting in the middle of the dashboard. It also has Wi-Fi hotspot, Pro Connect Services, USB charging points, many storage spaces, climate control, electrically operated seats with memory function, multi-function 3-spoke steering wheel, and analogue dials.

Nothing is known about the engine lineup so far, but it could gain a zero-emission variant, according to a previous report, and it seems that autonomous driving could be part of the offering as well.
