Not long after our spy photographers snapped the Singer DLS testing at the Nurburgring, the stunning restomod has been filmed on the move at the famed German circuit. Its looks and sounds just as epic as you’d imagine.

At the heart of the Singer DLS is a naturally-aspirated air-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six with four valves per cylinder and four camshafts. It revs to an extraordinary 9,300 rpm and pumps out no less than 500 hp. It also happens to sound incredible and is quite possibly the best air-cooled engine ever to exist.

While watching the car lap the racetrack, it’s hard not to be impressed by just how controlled and poised it appears to be. Unlike the new Porsche 911 GT3, the Singer DLS wasn’t designed as a road-legal track toy but it is clearly very capable on a difficult circuit like Green Hell.

It is unclear why Singer is testing the DLS at the ‘Ring as it only recently began customer deliveries of the car. The company is said to be testing different powertrain setups, bringing a lot of engines with them. This is backed by the fact we can see the company testing two different exhaust configurations for the car, including one with tailpipes that exit downwards.

Singer worked with some of the auto industry’s leading firms when designing and developing the DLS, including Williams Advanced Engineering, Bosch, Michelin, Brembo, Hewland, and BBS to bring the car to life.

Just 75 examples of the DLS will be built, each with a starting price of $1.8 million. However, once customers start requesting bespoke features and options, prices will easily rise to beyond $2 million.
