Jeep introduced the Xtreme Recon Package earlier this year and now the company has expanded its availability to the retro-inspired Wrangler Willys.

Set to go up for order next month, the Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme Recon Package features a black grille and black badging as well as a “Willys” decal on the hood. However, it’s more notable for being equipped with 17-inch beadlock capable wheels that are wrapped in 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.

Buyers will also find a 4.56:1 axle ratio, a 1.5 inch (38 mm) lift and specially tuned shocks. They’re joined by a reinforced swing gate and performance brakes. Thanks to these upgrades, the SUV has an approach angle of 47.4 degrees, a departure angle of 40.4 degrees and a breakover angle of 26.7 degrees. The model also boasts 12.9 inches (328 mm) of ground clearance and can ford 33.6 inches (853 mm) of water.

The model starts at $39,435 before a $1,495 destination charge and will be available exclusively with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with an eTorque mild-hybrid system. It produces 285 hp (213 kW / 289 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque, and is more fuel-efficient than the standard 3.6-liter V6. However, the powertrain required an eight-speed automatic transmission for 2021 so manual fans will presumably be out of luck.

That being said, customers have a bit of a wait ahead of them as production of the 2022 Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme Recon Package won’t start until December.
