For all the apocalyptic talk about internal combustion engines coming to an end, the near future still seems like an optimistic place for interesting new cars. Full of electric, electrified, and yes, even old-fashioned ICE-powered cars, there’s a lot to look forward to. So which new vehicle are you most excited about?
Along with all of the recently unveiled but not quite on the road vehicles coming next year such as the new Subaru WRX, the Nissan Z, the Toyota GR 86, the GMC Hummer, and the Ford F-150 Lightning, to name just a few, there’s also no shortage of stuff that we know is coming but about which we have little to no official information yet.
Take, for example, the 2023 Corvette Z06 of which Chevrolet recently shared the first official photo. Although we have a lot of informed guesses about what’s going on under the hood, you never can be 100 percent sure until the full reveal arrives. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out if it, indeed, has a flat-plane crank V8, because Chevy also revealed that it will be unveiled on October 26.

Speaking of high-performance American variants, Ford recently shared its first teaser of the upcoming Bronco Raptor. Based on one of the most hotly anticipated SUVs of the last decade, the well-loved Raptor branding will only make it more exciting. Similarly, we have some informed guesses about what will go on under the hood, but we’ll need to wait to find out for sure.
Ferrari’s long-awaited Purosangue is expected to go on sale before the end of 2022. The haters will, inevitably, hate but that hasn’t stopped thousands of buyers from snapping up SUVs from other historically supercar-focused brands. Even if it doesn’t get enthusiasts’ hearts pumping, it may prove to be Ferrari’s most important new model in decades.
Honda also has an important new model coming up, too. Following the introduction of its new Civic, the Type R will follow in 2022. The car will have big shoes to fill and will be faced by stiff competition thanks to a tightly packed low-buck performance car market.
With more to come, besides, there’s plenty to be exciting about in the next 12 months. What are you most excited about, though?
