The Geometry electric car brand that was launched by Geely in 2019 unveiled a brand new model called the EX3. The B-SUV is available for pre-sale in China with a starting price of 59,700RMB ($9,200), making it one of the most affordable five-seater EVs in the local market.
The Geometry EX3 has a pretty conventional SUV styling, featuring Peugeot 308-like headlights, toned-up fenders, and a bi-tone look with green accents for the decorative element above the body-colored grille and the roof bars. The EX3 measures 4,005 mm (157.7 inches) long, 1,760 mm (69.3 inches) wide, and 1,575 mm (62 inches) tall and has a wheelbase of 2,480 mm (97.6 inches).

Despite its compact footprint, the EX3 doesn’t seem to compromise on practicality. Geometry claims its entry-level SUV has a spacious cabin that can comfortably seat five passengers and a total of 26 storage compartments. The cargo space has a capacity of 500 liters (17.7 cubic feet) that can be increased to 1,050 liters (37.1 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded.
The dashboard looks fairly modern for a budget-oriented proposal, with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. Geely’s G-Link infotainment system includes QQ music, Autonavi, Ximalaya radio, voice control, Wi-Fi, and other applications. The black and blue upholstery is combined with fluorescent highlights and suede-like materials.
The EX3 is powered by a single electric motor producing 94 hp (70 kW / 95 PS) of power and 180 Nm (132.7 lb-ft) of torque. While this doesn’t sound like much, Geometry claims that it is “on par with traditional gasoline vehicles in terms of performance”, while the 37.23 kWh liquid-cooled battery is offering a range of 322 km (200 miles) according to China’s NEDC cycle. Using high-speed DC chargers the battery can get from empty to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes, providing around 250 km (155 miles) of range.
As for safety, given the starting price of the EX3 we didn’t expect any sophisticated ADAS systems. Instead, equipment includes dual airbags, reversing sensors and cameras, tire pressure monitoring, ABS and EBD. Geometry also talks about high-strength steel front and rear anti-collision bars with high tensile strength.
The Geometry EX3 will be initially available in China through the company’s 20-city dealer network, but the goal is to be exported to other markets in the future.
