These independent illustrations were made by Kolesa and while based on recent camouflaged prototypes of the GranTurismo, they are neither related to nor endorsed by Maserati.
The Maserati GranTurismo is long overdue for an overhaul and later this year, or perhaps in early 2022, the next-generation model will launch. It has the potential to be even better than its predecessor and if these renderings prove accurate, may look even nicer.
A handful of GranTurismo prototypes have been spied testing in skin-tight camouflage in recent months, providing us with a relatively good idea of how the car will look. It will have similar proportions to the outgoing model but have a more modern design that takes some inspiration from the mid-engined MC20.

These renderings from Kolesa depict the new GranTurismo with headlights very similar to those of the MC20. It also features large air intakes and a pronounced grille, as well as a hood with some striking design lines.
Elsewhere, the Grand Tourer has been depicted with a set of black and silver wheels and blue brake calipers. Key features found along the sides of the car include door handles that sit flush with the bodywork and a large vent behind the front wheels.

The rear of the new GranTurismo could prove to be just as gorgeous as the front end and features slim LED taillights, a carbon fiber lip spoiler, quad tailpipes, and an aggressive diffuser. It somewhat reminds us of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.
Maserati has committed to selling the new GranTurismo and GranCabrio models in both combustion engine and electric guises. All signs point towards the ICE model featuring the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 of the MC20, rather than an updated version of the outgoing car’s V8.
