Skoda has released the first official photo of its upcoming Slavia sedan that’s aimed at the Indian market.

This image showcases a Slavia prototype in a brightly colored camouflage wrap. The design of this wrap came to life after the car manufacturer held a contest for design professionals and budding designers in India to submit their ideas for the camouflage. The contest received over 200 entries and was won by Shreyas Karambelker, who will travel to Prague where he will meet the head of Skoda Design, Oliver Stefani.

Karambelker designed his wrap with warm colors and peacock and lotus flower motifs to represent Indian culture. The design also references elements of Czech glass art and Cubism.

The Skoda Slavia is based on the VW Group’s MQB A0 platform and appears to be similar in size to the VW Virtus. Recent spy shots of the Slavia have revealed that it will feature a familiar front fascia with striking headlights and a grille with vertical slats.

There’s no word as to what powertrains the Slavia will be offered with, but it could share its engines with the Kushaq SUV introduced to the Indian market earlier this year. As such, a 1.0-liter TSI three-cylinder and a 1.5-liter TSI four-cylinder are likely, with drive sent exclusively through the front wheels via a manual transmission or a DSG.
