2022 Hyundai Sonata N Line Night Edition Arrives With Blackout Looks And Nearly $35k Sticker

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins bombed at the box office as it has only made $36.9 (£27.2 / €32.1) million worldwide since its release this summer.

While part of that can be chalked up to the pandemic, the action flick has a 36% score on RottenTomatoes as critics bashed the film as being forgettable, unnecessary and bland.

That’s not good and Hyundai’s marketing team is probably second guessing their decision to introduce the 2022 Sonata N Line Night Edition in the movie. However, you can’t change the past so the automaker is pushing ahead with the launch of the new special edition.

Currently arriving at U.S. dealerships, the model features a blackout appearance and is available exclusively in Phantom Black or Quartz White. As part of the makeover, the sedan has been equipped with dark chrome badging, matte black mirror caps and door handles (body color on the Quartz White vehicles), and matte black 19-inch alloy wheels with carbon fiber center caps. Rounding out the highlights are red brake calipers and a carbon fiber rear spoiler.

Hyundai didn’t mention interior equipment, but the standard Sonata N Line comes with a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel and heated front sport seats with microfiber inserts. They’re joined by a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a wireless smartphone charger, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation.

Since the special edition is focused exclusively on styling, the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine carries over and continues to produce 290 hp (213 kW / 294 PS) and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to the front wheels.

Only 1,000 units will be available in the United States and pricing starts at $34,750 before a $1,025 destination charge.
