The latest trailer for the highly-anticipated next edition of Gran Turismo is full of cars, teases, and an interesting meditation on car culture from the game’s director, Kazunori Yamauchi.
In the trailer, Yamauchi says that he believes the “car is one of the most beautiful industrial products,” one that takes humans beyond their physical capabilities, and one that can be improved thanks to the ingenuity of enthusiasts.
Reflecting that, the game will allow players to race, collect, and modify the cars that have been faithfully recreated by the production team. It will also allow players to simply take pictures of them to admire their beauty.

And there will be quite a few cars to take pictures of because the trailer features a plethora of cars, which we presume will be playable in the game. Kicking things off with the Porsche 917 Living Legend that races alongside the 917 that inspired it, the game looks like it will be jam-packed with cars.
Along with those, here follows a by no means exhaustive list of some of the cars that can be seen in the trailer: Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 R, a 1966 Jaguar XJ13, a 1970 Chaparral 2J, 1968 Alpine A220, a 1963 Aston Martin DB5, a selection of GT Vision cars, a 1999 R34 Skyline, a new Supra, and more besides.
Meanwhile, a very perceptive Twitter user discovered that if you stitch the flowing lines that cross the frame throughout the trailer, you find the track layout of the fictional Deep Forest course that has long been a fixture of the Gran Turismo series.
Now we just have to wait until March 4 before we can get our hands on the latest addition to the Gran Turismo series.
