November’s SEMA Show is fast approaching and Flat Out Autos has just unveiled its latest creation for the event, a two-door Chevrolet K5 Blazer that’s based on a 2018 Tahoe Z71.
Flat Out Autos has been converting modern-day Tahoe models into classic K5 Blazer’s for quite some time now but it decided to switch things up for this latest project, crafting a two-door variant. As you can imagine, creating it was a more involved process than building the company’s typical four-door conversions.
The first task was to remove the standard bodywork of the 2018 Tahoe before a section was cut out from the middle of the SUV’s structure, significantly reducing the length of the wheelbase and the overall size of the vehicle. Flat Out Autos then removed the standard rear doors and created much larger rear side windows.
The rest of the SUV features bodywork inspired by the original K5 Blazer. As a result, it has a large silver grille with a blue Chevrolet badge and chrome surrounds. There are also circular headlights, a chrome front bumper, and chrome wheels wrapped in B.F. Goodrich all-terrain tires. The rear is also reminiscent of a genuine Blazer thanks to its tailgate, taillights, and chrome bumper.
Making the heavily modified Tahoe stand out even further is a two-tone blue and white paint scheme. Photos of the SUV’s interior reveal that the second-row has been removed entirely, leaving just the first and second rows of seats.
Flat Out Autos hasn’t said how much converting a Tahoe into a modern-day Blazer like this will set back customers.
