Pricing details for the 2022 Honda Pilot have just been announced, including the new entry-level Sport variant.
The new Pilot Sport fills the void left by the old LX base model that has been dropped for the 2022 model year. The Pilot Sport starts at $38,055 including destination and rises to $40,055 when equipped with all-wheel drive. This price represents a significant jump of $4,280 over a LX model from 2021.
Importantly, the Pilot Sport comes equipped with a host of features the old LX didn’t have, including 20-inch Pewter Gray alloy wheels, leather seats, and an 8-inch infotainment display.

The Pilot LX isn’t the only variant that has been discontinued for 2022. Honda has also dropped the mid-range EX which started at $36,455 for the 2021 model year, meaning it too was cheaper than the new Pilot Sport. It came standard with 18-inch wheels and cloth seats.
No significant mechanical upgrades were made to the Honda Pilot for the 2022 model year, although it is now available in rugged TrailSport guise. All variants feature the same 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 with 280 hp and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque.
A number of variants are available above the Sport and TrailSport. These include the EX-L ($39,060 before delivery), Special Edition ($39,660 ex-delivery), Touring ($43,620 ex-delivery), Elite ($49,120 ex-delivery), and the flagship Black Edition priced from $50,620 before destination fees.
