Copart, the source for all your crunched-up car needs, has delivered yet again with a BMW M4 Competition so fresh it’s probably still got a hint of new car smell lingering. Sadly, it has also been involved in a pretty severe accident.
With both wheels on the left-hand side of the vehicle apparently torn off and the airbags deployed, the car has had an eventful early life. According to the Carfax report, which may or may not be right about the mileage, the M4 Competition has 1,780 miles (about 2,865km) on the odometer, with the dealer registering the car on September 19. We found the ad on Copart at the end of October, so the owner had it in their possession for about a month, give or take, before the accident.
Who knows if the driver took lessons from a Mustang owner or if it was their fault at all, but photos of the car from the right look almost pristine, while the left side of the M4 makes it look like the car may have slid into a curb going sideways. Still, it’s unclear what kind of activity could have led to such an accident.

Copart‘s information suggests that both the wheels and the undercarriage were damaged in the incident. Apart from that, though, the car looks in a pretty good shape that it’s quite tempting, even if that’s only for its parts.
The engine is a 3.0-liter inline-six with twin turbos that delivers 503 hp (510 PS / 375 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, which are funneled to the road via an eight-speed automatic transmission. This car is not an xDrive AWD model, which means that it’s rear-wheel drive and hits 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds, instead of the 3.5 seconds of the AWD version.
The M4 Competition Coupe starts at $74,700 in the U.S. and Copart estimates that this car, with all of its options, amounted to $108,641. Being sold in Miami, Florida, there is no auction date yet, but if you do end up buying it, do get in touch and we might feature your story.
Correction: A previous version of this article wrongly listed the mileage from the dashboard as 124mi, which was apparently the remaining range. After a check on CarFax, the car appears to have been driven 1,781 miles before the crash, having been registered by the dealer on Sep 19, 2021.
