2022 Toyota Tundra Priced From $35,950, EPA Rated At Up To 20 MPG Combined
Toyota has just announced that its much anticipated 2022 Tundra will kick-off with a starting price of $36,950 for the 4×2 SR Double Cab variant inclusive of the smaller 6.5-footbed. However, customers will be treated to a wide selection to say the least, as the Tundra is said to come with a total of 14 different 4×2 variants, the most pricey being the Tundra 4×2 1794 Edition CrewMax 6.5-ft bed starting at $58,020. Tundra buyers will pay a slight premium for models equipped with 4×4 and will see the first examples hit showrooms by December.
Italdesign Starts Production Of The Special Nissan GT-R50
Italian engineering company Italdesign has officially begun production of a limited, special edition Nissan GT-R50 at their manufacturing facility in Turin, Italy. Only fifty of these hand-built examples will be produced, and customers are encouraged to customize their models in a way that would honor a GT-R from the past. Starting prices for these special examples are said to begin at $1.1 million, the equivalent of roughly ten R35 GT-R’s.

As clearly stressed by VW and its current CEO Herbert Diess, the German carmaker sees only one future for the automotive world and its electrification. Following emission regulations and a decrease in battery costs, EVs are on the brink of surpassing their ICE counterparts, and VW aims to cash on this with their upcoming VW ID.2 which will release in 2025 at a price tag of just 20k Euros ($23,294). VW already teased the ID.2 concept, calling it the ID.LIFE in Munich last September, and our artists have been able to create a boxy, B-segment crossover illustration based on the concept. Pricing for the ID.2 is considerably better than most B-segment crossovers on the market today, and production will most likely take place in Spain alongside the rest of the ID family.

When Great Wall’s Ora brand pulled the covers off the retro-styled five-door hatchback they call the Ora Cat EV at the Munich Motor Show in September, it raised a few eyebrows — not for us buyers, but surely for established EV makers like VW and Renault. Why? Because when the Ora Cat goes on sale in the UK this December for a starting price of £25,000 ($33,740) coupled with the UK government’s £2,500 ($3,374) rebate, the Chinese EV will undercut VW’s cheapest ID.3 by nearly £6000 ($8000) and Renault’s Zoe by over £5000 ($6,750). The base Ora Cat EV will come with a 58kWh battery giving buyers a competitive range of 209 miles (336km), while an additional £3000 pounds will get you a 62kWh battery that will extend that figure to 261 miles (420km).

Prices in Australia will start at AU$28,253 (US$21,161) for the i30 Active and will reach AU$41,830 (US$31,330) for the top of the line N Line Premium.

As Honda has proven recently with the all-new Civic and Accord, they have mellowed down in terms of styling and design. Next in line for a redesign is the CR-V, and as one of Honda’s best sellers, it seems that the company has chosen to give the sixth-generation car a more mature appearance, coupled with a larger overall footprint giving it the potential to inherit a better interior. We can expect Honda to drop a production-ready or near production ‘prototype’ within the next 6-months, and while it’s too soon to start guessing numbers, MRSP is expected to be similar to that of the current models at $25,750 to $36,750.

Elon Musk called upon Twitter users to help him decide whether to sell 10 percent of his stake in Tesla in order to pay the proposed “Billionaires Tax.” Over 3.5 million users took part in the poll, with 57.9 percent saying he should. Musk has promised to abide by the result.
