2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Starts At $37,390 And Climbs To $66,660 For Luxurious Summit Reserve

Following a leak last month, Jeep has confirmed pricing for the redesigned Grand Cherokee.

Kicking things off is the entry-level Grand Cherokee Laredo, which starts at $37,390 and features LED lighting units as well as 17-inch aluminum wheels.

The cabin is more high-tech than before as drivers will find a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system. They’re joined by a passive entry system, an automatic dual-zone climate control system, and cloth seats with eight-way power adjustment on the driver’s side. Drivers will also find a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Despite its entry-level status, the Laredo comes equipped with a suite of driver assistance systems including adaptive cruise control with stop and go, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, and full-speed collision warning with active braking and pedestrian / cyclist detection. Other standard safety features include active lane management, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors.

Motivation is provided by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 290 hp (216 kW / 294 PS) and 257 lb-ft (348 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. However, four-wheel drive is available for an additional $2,000.

Moving up the trim and package ladder is the Grand Cherokee Altitude, which starts at $41,945. It builds on the Laredo by adding gloss black exterior accents, a revised grille and larger 20-inch aluminum wheels. The model also boasts heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a wireless smartphone charger. Other niceties include remote start, rain-sensing wipers, a 115-volt power outlet, and a height adjustable power liftgate.

Customers looking for more luxury can upgrade to the Grand Cherokee Limited, which begins at $43,710. That’s a hefty premium over the Laredo, but buyers will be rewarded with Capri leather seats that feature power adjustment up front as well as heating front and rear. Other highlights include a heated steering wheel, an ambient lighting system and active noise cancellation technology. These features are joined by remote start, a universal garage door opener and a power liftgate.

The off-road focused Grand Cherokee Trailhawk comes standard with four-wheel drive and starts at $51,275. However, for $54,570 customers can get one with a 5.7-liter V8 pumping out 357 hp (266 kW / 362 PS) and 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) of torque.

Regardless of which engine is selected, the model features a rugged appearance thanks to unique bumpers that help to improve approach and departure angles. Other highlights include an anti-glare hood decal, a black roof, and unique 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires. Rounding out the exterior highlights are skid plates, red tow hooks, and the Trailer-Tow package that includes a Class IV receiver.

Despite its off-road focus, the cabin is pretty luxurious as it features heated Capri leather seats with suede accents.  Buyers will also find all-weather floor mats and a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg as the Trailhawk features a Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system with a two-speed transfer case. Other highlights include an electronic limited slip rear differential, a 44:1 crawl ratio, a sway bar disconnect, and a Quadra-Lift air suspension with semi-active damping. They’re joined by a Selec-Speed Control semi-autonomous off-road mode with sand and snow recovery functions as well as a Selec-Terrain System with Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand settings.

Continuing up the trim ladder is the $53,305 Grand Cherokee Overland. It brings the bling thanks to chrome tow hooks, gloss black mirrors with bright chrome inserts, and a gloss black roof rack with bright stainless accents. The model also rides on 20-inch aluminum wheels and features door handles that illuminate when you approach.

The upscale look continues in the cabin as drivers will find heated / ventilated Nappa leather seats, a leather-wrapped instrument panel and An-Teak trim. Other highlights include GPS navigation, an Alpine premium audio system, an upgraded five-color ambient lighting system as well as a hands-free power liftgate. They’re joined by a dual-pane sunroof, length-adjustable front seat cushions, and power release second-row seats.

Approaching the top of the lineup, or summit if you will, is the Grand Cherokee Summit which begins at $57,365. It’s distinguished by unique LED fog lights, platinum accents and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels.

However, the real story is the interior which features quilted Nappa leather seats, Absolute Oak wood trim and Berber floor mats. Speaking of the seats, the front ones offer 16-way power adjustment as well as heating, ventilation and massage functions. Buyers will also find a larger 10.1-inch infotainment system, a four-zone climate control system, and a second-row console which boasts illuminated cup holders and a two-tier armrest.

That’s only part of the story as the Summit comes with Active Driving Assist, which is a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system. It’s joined by Drowsy Driver Detection, Intersection Collision Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition technology. Rounding out the highlights are Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist as well as a surround view camera.

Finally, there’s the range-topping Summit Reserve which starts at $63,365 and is available exclusively with four-wheel drive. It’s a no holds barred luxury vehicle as it has quilted Palermo leather with heating and ventilation for the first and second row as well as a massage function for the front seats. Other highlights include genuine open-pore waxed walnut wood trim, a suede-like headliner and a 19-speaker McIntosh premium audio system. Last but not least, the model rides on standard 21-inch wheels.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will begin arriving at U.S. dealerships in the fourth quarter and be followed by the Grand Cherokee 4xe early next year. However, it’s worth noting the aforementioned pricing excludes a ridiculous $1,795 destination fee.
