The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling crossover in America and it’s getting a handful of updates for the 2022 model year.
The biggest change is the addition of a new SE Hybrid variant, which aims to appeal to value conscious consumers who want something sportier than the standard hybrid, but cheaper than the XSE Hybrid.
That’s a very specific type of customer, but the model will come equipped with fabric seats that feature distinctive inserts as well as contrast stitching. Toyota was coy on additional details, but the model also has a 7-inch infotainment system and a six-speaker audio system.

Customers willing to shell out a little more can get a Weather Package that includes rain-sensing wipers, a heated leather steering wheel and heated front seats. Buyers can also opt for a Convenience Package, which adds a height adjustable power liftgate, a moonroof and a larger 9-inch infotainment system.
Besides the new SE Hybrid trim, the 2022 RAV4 lineup boasts a handful of minor changes. A few trims now offer a Calvary Blue exterior, while others sport updated wheels.
Furthermore, there are a handful of lighting changes. XLE and above trims receive fancier headlights, while new LED fog lights can be found on the XLE Premium, Limited, Adventure and TRD Off-Road. Speaking of fog lights, the XSE Hybrid gets vertical units just like the XSE Prime.
Moreover, all trims now come equipped with a locking glove box and LED interior lamps, while XLE and above trims now boast illuminated switchgear. Ballers who opt for the Limited grade will also find an eight-way power passenger seat.
More details will be released next month, but the 2022 RAV4 should start around $26,500.
