Vehicles facts from the recently released Xbox game Forza Horizon 5 show that the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar will feature 877 hp (889 PS/654 kW) and 535 ft-lbs (725 Nm) of torque in the game.
Although that’s a more-than-healthy amount of power, Jalopnik reports that the in-game car will make considerably less than the power figures quoted by Mercedes. According to earlier statements from the manufacturer, the actual car is supposed to get anywhere from 1,000 hp to 1,100 hp, though no official figures have been released yet.
While this is just a video game, and so should not be conflated with real-world figures, it is a noteworthy insight since video game manufacturers are often given access that normal people aren’t. In August, Mercedes said it had worked closely with Microsoft on the in-game car.

“The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE is strictly limited to 275 units in the real world. We’re delighted that there’s now a perfect digital variant exclusively in Forza Horizon 5,” said Philipp Schiemer, Chairman of the Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. “Thanks to our close cooperation with Microsoft, we can now virtually offer the unique driving experience of our hypercar to a large group of enthusiasts in the best and most impressive way currently available on the gaming scene,”
The Mercedes-AMG One has been beset by delays since it was first announced in 2017. As it turns out, it’s hard to make an F1-derived engine idle at a speed that is acceptable for a road car. The Forza figures raise questions about whether or not the automaker has had to lower its power expectations in order to make the vehicle roadworthy.
The game further quotes a weight of 3,737 lbs (1,695 kg), which is also worse than what was promised by Mercedes-AMG. The automaker previously said the car will weigh between 2,866 to 3,086 lbs (1,300 to 1,400 kg), reports Autocar.
Again, these shouldn’t be confused with official specs, but it is interesting that Forza Horizon 5, which has used the vehicle extensively in its promotional materials, is listing figures that are worse than what we expect from the real car.
Whatever the output, the vehicle will be powered by a Formula 1-derived 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine paired to four electric motors. The latest timeline suggests that the car will be ready to start rolling through the production line in mid-2022.
