Despite the slippery conditions, the driver of this old Audi failed to keep their speed in check, colliding with an unsuspecting police car in Lithuania.

The video, which was released by Lithuanian Police, shows how the Audi failed to make the slight right-hand turn while braking. The two factors at fault were the speed, and of course the snow and ice combo.

Unfortunately, the collision was a frontal one, offset, as it is usually the case. With most collisions of this type, only a part of the car’s front width structure is directly impacted – hence the term “offset”. As you can see, this was no minor fender bender.

It’s around this time of year that we see an increase in car accidents that involve traction-related issues. With so many regions of the globe experiencing snowy conditions, the margin for error becomes even smaller as mistakes or lapses in judgement can end up costing you a great deal.

Just recently, we saw how a large dump truck nearly hit a passenger car (if it wasn’t for a pole by the side of the road), or how somebody lost control of their car and rolled over a snow bank. ‘Tis the season to be careful.
