As the hearth warms, the guests arrive, and everyone prepares for a celebration that is likely to be better than last year’s, allow us to wish all and sundry a happy Thanksgiving!
Much like the holiday, 2021 has been a better year than 2020, even if it still hasn’t been exactly normal. That’s why we thought we’d take a moment to look back on everything we’re thankful for. The returning events, the exciting shifts, and everything in between that has brought an ember of joy to our car enthusiast hearts.
In 2021, we witnessed the return of somewhat normal product cycles. While supply issues are still slowing the automotive industry down, 2021 has been a year of big unveilings, such as the Nissan Z, the Rimac Nevera, the Honda Civic Si, the Lucid Air, the Corvette Z06, the latest 911 GT3, and much, much more. It has proven that through sea changes, it’s still an exciting time to be an automotive enthusiast, no matter what you’re into.

Motorsports, too, have returned in a big way. Although there was some racing in 2020, this year has been a big one. Between Formula 1‘s titanic title fight, Extreme E‘s opening season, NASCAR making history, and the promise of the Le Mans hypercar class, fans of motorsport have been well served.
And that’s to say nothing of gaming. More than a few of us no doubt bought new consoles, gaming PCs or sim rigs last year, and the gaming industry’s two console-based big hitters have whet our appetite. With the recent release of Forza Horizon 5 and the first hints at what Gran Turismo 7 will look like, it’s a big year for Xbox and PlayStation fans.
Now, we’d like to hear from you. What automotive trends and products are you thankful for this year?
