Dacia’s All-New Jogger Is Officially Europe’s Cheapest 7-Seater Model

Dacia has started accepting orders for the all-new Jogger in Europe. In France, prices for the family-oriented crossover wagon start from €14,990 ($16,981) as a five-seater, and from €15,750 ($17,844) as a seven-seater making it the cheapest of its kind and a low-slung alternative to the Dacia Duster.

Dacia claims that the Jogger is “the most affordable family car in the C-Segment” which could be the case since it is cheaper than other budget-friendly offerings including the likes of the Skoda Scala and the Fiat Tipo. Like the aforementioned models, and despite its generous dimensions (4,547 mm / 179 inches long), the Jogger is based on a stretched supermini platform. In fact, it is the crossover wagon variant of the Sandero / Sandero Stepway, as proven by the shared body panels and interior design.

The Jogger is available in four trim levels – Essential, Comfort, Extreme Limited Edition, and Extreme+ Limited Edition. In France, all Jogger models come in standard five-seater and optional seven-seater variants, with the latter offering up to 60 different configurations. No matter the trim level, the cost for the extra row of seats is set at €750 ($850).

In any case, there is plenty of space for luggage ranging from 160-213 lt (5.7-7.5 cubic feet) in the seven-seat layout, to 708-842 lt (25-29.7 cubic feet) in the five-seat configuration, with a maximum of 1,819 lt (64.2 cubic feet) when the third row is removed and the second row is folded down.

Standard equipment in the Essential trim level, which costs €14,990 ($16,981), includes six airbags, auto headlights, fog lights, front electric windows, AEB, and the Media Control system which allows the driver to use his/her smartphone as infotainment.

The Comfort, starting from €16,700 ($18,901), is probably a wiser choice adding features like manual air condition, modular roof rails, 16-inch Flex steel wheels, electric mirrors, auto wipers, rear parking sensors, an 8-inch Media Display, two USB ports, electric rear windows, central armrests, and various design touches.

The pictured Extreme Limited Edition, priced from €17,700 ($20,029), is visually differentiated by the black 16-inch alloy wheels, the shark-fin antenna, the black mirrors, and the Megalith gray skid plates. It gets the Media Nav system with navigation and wireless smartphone mirroring, a reversing camera, floor and cargo mats, and automatic air condition. Last but not least, the Extreme+ Limited Edition, priced at €18,200 ($20,600), adds the Comfort Pack, the Europe Navigation Pack, and the spare wheel which is a €200 ($226) option in other trims.

As for the powertrains, the Jogger is fitted with either the turbocharged 1.0 TCe 110 three-cylinder petrol producing 109 hp (81 kW / 110 PS) or the 1.0 TCe 100 Bi-Fuel producing 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS) when burning LPG, providing a combined range of up to 1,000 km (621 miles). Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox sending power to the front wheels.

The Romanian automaker also announced pricing for the UK where the Essential trim starts from £14,995 ($19,972), the base-spec Comfort starts from £16,595 ($22,109), and the flagship Extreme SE from £17,395 ($23,175). While those are quite more expensive than the base prices in France, we should note that the UK variants come with seven seats as standard and are a lot better equipped, including a bunch of extra features from higher trims.

Customers will be able to order the Dacia Jogger starting from December 3. The model is expected to reach showrooms in March 2022.
