Hot on the heels of Max Verstappen’s historic Formula 1 championship win, his fans now have the opportunity to own his personal FK8 Honda Civic Type R.
The Dutch driver has partnered with CarNext to sell the car, revealing that all of the proceeds will go to charity. Curiously, CarNext hasn’t yet officially announced what the car is, even though it has released a video of Verstappen driving it and confirming that it is indeed a Civic Type R.
The listing isn’t yet live but it appears as though the auction will have a starting price of €33,333 ($37,551). CarNext notes that the car is a 2018 model and has been driven just over 58,000 km (~36,000 miles). It also features Verstappen’s signature on the dashboard.

It is highly unlikely Verstappen actually purchased the car and in all likelihood, it was given to him by Red Bull Racing because Honda supplies its engines to the team. However, with Honda now officially exiting the sport, Verstappen and fellow Red Bull driver Sergio Perez will probably be provided with new loan cars.
It’s difficult to say how much the car will sell for but given the fact that Verstappen has driven it and that it features his signature, it will no doubt fetch a premium over most other used Civic Type Rs on the market.
As a reminder, the FK8-generation Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine pumping out 316 hp in European specification. Coupled to this powertrain is one of the finest six-speed manual transmissions of any current production car.
