Nismo’s Heritage program has been a godsend for owners of R32 and R33 generation Skyline GT-Rs, and R34 GT-R models and has just grown with the availability of titanium exhaust systems for the trio.
The exhaust systems have been designed to work with all R32 and R34 models but only works on two-door versions of the R33. Each system is about 12.5 kg (27.5 lbs) lighter than the original exhaust and is said to contribute to a 7 per cent increase in power by reducing exhaust pressure.
All of Nismo’s titanium exhausts include a diamond-like coating on the tailpipe that prevents it from changing color like typical exhausts made out of titanium.

Unsurprisingly, the exhaust isn’t cheap. The ones for the R32 and R33 models will set back customers 726,000 yen ($6,630), while the R34’s titanium exhaust costs 737,000 yen ($6,457). However, if you’re having a Skyline completely restored by Nismo, that’s chump change.
In late 2020, Nissan launched a comprehensive restoration program for the Skyline. It involves the vehicle being completely disassembled before its shell and chassis are resprayed and, if necessary, repaired. The Skyline’s iconic RB26DETT engine is also completely disassembled and built back up with rebuilt, overhauled, or new parts. Nissan also rebuilds the suspension and braking systems and if necessary, replaces all of the original wiring.
Nismo can also thoroughly restore the interior of the Skyline with the same materials as the current GT-R. Prices for a complete restoration vary depending on what the customer wants done, but start at around $400,000 (45 million yen).
