A new trailer for The Batman has been released, providing us with an even better chance to see the new Batmobile up close.

The new film has been directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson in the title role. We caught our first glimpse of the new Batmobile way back in early 2020 and it looks unlike any other before it, fitting of the darker undertones of the film.

Classic 1950s and 1960s American muscle cars served as inspiration in creating the new Batmobile. It is finished in matte black and sports LED headlights and red lights hidden behind the faux front grille. The most striking view of the new Batmobile is from the rear which is fully exposed and where its engine fits. It looks mean, it looks fast, and it looks menacing.

In addition to Pattinson as Batman, the film will feature Catwoman played by Zoe Kravitz, as well as Jeffrey Wright, Jim Gordon, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, Paul Dano, and Peter Sarsgaard.

“Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City,” the official synopsis reads. “With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.”

The Batman was originally scheduled to be released in October 2021 but will now reach theaters on March 4, 2022.
