If you’re in the market for a C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with very low mileage, you’ll either need to wait a long time to take delivery of a 2022 model or pay a premium for a 2020 or 2021 model. Alternatively, you could pick up this salvaged ‘Vette currently up for sale on eBay.
The mid-engined sports car has been listed up for sale in Granite City, Illinois, and while you may expect it to be a bit of a bargain, it actually isn’t. In fact, it has a Buy It Now price of $76,900, which is significantly more than the original $60,900 starting price of 2021 Corvette models with the 1LT trim level.

The listing doesn’t detail the incident that led to the sports car getting a salvage title but images show that it is missing its front bumper so, presumably, it suffered some front-end damage. The rear-end has also been damaged and will require a new bumper, diffuser, and new tailpipes, while the engine cover has suffered some bumps and bruises.
There doesn’t appear to be any significant damage done to the paintwork of the car, meaning it should be quite easy to repair.
Of course, impacting the value of the car is the fact that it has a salvage title but one thing it does have going in its favor is the fact that it has only been driven 1,225 miles (1,971 km).
A look at the used car market shows that there are heaps of 2021 Corvette Stingray models on the market that have been driven less than 2,000 miles. However, the vast majority of these have asking prices exceeding $100,000, so if you can repair it for a reasonable sum and don’t mind the salvage title, you could certainly save some money buying this damaged example.
