This is one of the rarest BMW E30 3-Series models you’ve probably never heard about. Alpina only ever built 67 examples of the E30-based B6 2.7 and one of them has been listed up for sale on eBay in Germany.

The car was only sold new in Japan but at some stage this example was exported to Germany where it has resided for a number of years. It is number 39 of the 67 units built and according to the listing, is in excellent condition.

The 1986 Alpina B6 2.7 is based on the E30 325i that was originally equipped with a 170PS 2.5-liter straight-six. However, as its name implies, the B6’s engine has been enlarged to 2.7 liters, resulting in 210 hp and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque. In its heyday, the car could hit 140 mph (225 km/h).

The ebay listing notes the B6 2.7 has been driven roughly 170,000 km (~105,000 miles) since it was built but it remains in its original condition and according to the seller, the engine is in great running order. The body is also said to be completely free of rust.

Only a single image has been released of the car’s interior. It shows it has been equipped with black cloth seats that feature a bright green pinstripe running down the center. It also sports green floor mats and appears to be in good condition, despite the relatively high mileage.

As for the price, this particular B6 2.7 has an asking price of €65,000 ($73,581). By comparison, a pristine example driven just 35,000 km (21,747 miles) was auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s in 2017 for $52,250.
