The Nissan Titan has been growing in popularity and the company is trying to further increase its appeal by introducing a factory-authorized suspension lift kit at the Chicago Auto Show.
Available on Titan and Titan XD Crew Cab 4×4 models, the lift kit was developed by ICON Vehicle Dynamics and includes custom rod end bearings, “Delta Joints” and height-adjustable coil-over shock absorbers which were specifically designed for the truck. Nissan says the lift kit simply bolts into place and lifts the truck by up to three inches.
The lift kits will go on sale this spring and be available through Nissan dealerships. The company says dealers should be able to install the lift in less than four hours and notes the installation won’t void the Titan’s warranty which provides bumper-to-bumper coverage for 5 years or 100,000 miles (160,934 km).
Nissan North America’s Billy Hayes said “We worked with ICON, a proven name in suspension lift-kit engineering, to develop the first kits to be offered through our Nissan dealer network. They came back to us with a kit that is easy to install, maintains Titan and Titan XD’s impressive factory payload and towing capabilities, and allows the trucks to be returned to stock for resale or end-of-lease return.”
Hayes went on to say the trucks are the “most accessorized models” in the company’s lineup and the lift kit is a great addition as it provides increased wheel travel and a better damping ability which should improve ride quality on- and off-road.
