Mazda is celebrating the new year by announcing a host of changes to the 2022 CX-30.
Set to arrive at U.S. dealerships early next month, the CX-30 now comes standard with all-wheel drive. As a result, prices have climbed across the board.
However, it’s not all bad news as the entry-level CX-30 2.5 S begins at $22,200 and this is only $150 more than last year’s front-wheel drive variant. More importantly, it’s a $1,250 savings compared to last year’s all-wheel drive model.
Additional changes are limited, but the CX-30 2.5 S Select now comes equipped with aluminum roof rails. The model also gains a new Platinum Quartz Metallic exterior color, which is also available on the Preferred, Premium, and Turbo trims.

Buyers will also find a new CX-30 2.5 S Carbon Edition. It features a Polymetal Gray exterior with gloss black mirrors and black 18-inch aluminum wheels. Inside, there’s exclusive red leather seats and all the usual equipment found on the CX-30 2.5 S Preferred. This means there’s a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and a power moonroof. They’re joined by a dual-zone automatic climate control system, an 8.8-inch infotainment system, and a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster.
Engine options carryover and include a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces up to 186 hp (139 kW / 189 PS) and 186 lb-ft (252 Nm) of torque. Customers can also opt for a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which develops 227 hp (169 kW / 230 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque on regular gasoline or 250 hp (186 kW / 253 PS) and 320 lb-ft (433 Nm) on premium.
Note: Prices exclude a $1,225 ($1,270 in Alaska) destination fee
