It has only been a couple of days since the all-electric Chevrolet Silverado EV was presented at CES 2022 and the car manufacturer has already confirmed that the RST First Edition variant has filled all reservations.
More specifically, General Motors chief executive Mary Barra says allocations for the Silverado EV RST First Edition were snapped up in just 12 minutes. It’s important to note, however, that Chevrolet has only opened reservations for the Silverado EV, meaning no one has actually paid the full $105,000 to buy one, so despite Barra’s claims that it sold out, that’s not technically true. It’s also worth mentioning that GM hasn’t revealed just how many RST First Edition models will be produced.

Interestingly, the RST First Edition won’t actually be the first variant of the Silverado EV to hit the market, even though it is the first model that customers can reserve. The first model to hit showroom floors will be the fleet-focused WT variant that is good for 510 hp and 615 lb-ft (834 Nm) of torque and will have a range exceeding 400 miles (644 km). It will initially have a towing capacity of 8,000 lbs (3,629 kg) and eventually be offered with a max tow package that increases this to 20,000 lbs (9,072 kg).
As for the Silverado EV RST First Edition, it will sport a pair of electric motors combining to deliver 664 hp and 780 lb-ft (1,056 Nm) of torque. This will allow the truck to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 4.5 seconds. It too will have a range of 400 miles (644 km).
