A number of Chevrolet models will roll off the production line without Rear Park Assist features due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage.

One of the first models impacted is the Camaro. GM Authority notes that from January 10, select Camaro models will be built without Rear Park Assist, despite the feature normally coming standard on 3LT, 2SS, and ZL1 variants. Similarly, Rear Park Assist, usually a standard feature on all trim levels, will no longer be available on the 2022 Corvette as of January 24.

In addition, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck will be built without the Front and Rear Park Assist functions. Rear Park Assist was supposed to come standard in the WT variant’s WT Safety Package and the Safety Package offered for LT, RST, and LT Trail Boss models. It was also standard on the Silverado ZR2.

Also impacted are Chevrolet Trailblazer models built after January 10. Models equipped with the Driver Confidence and Cruise Package on LS trim models and LT, Activ, and RS trims with the Driver Confidence Package or Confidence II Package usually come standard with Rear Park Assist. Chevrolet will also remove Rear Park Assist from 2022 Tahoe and Suburban models built after January 24.

It is uncertain if the Rear Park Assist feature can be retrofitted at a later date and no confirmation has been given that customers of impacted vehicles will be offered a credit.
