Project cars may sound nice in theory, but oftentimes the end result leaves a lot to be desired. This LS7-powered Nissan 240SX seems like it might be the exception to the rule. It’s beautifully finished and might be the perfect way to upset just about everyone at your local cars and coffee.

For those who judge a book by its cover, this 240SX might be immediately annoying. That’s because, on the front of it, it looks like an S13 JDM Nissan Silvia. Here in the States, that car is considered unobtainium for the most part and the few that have been imported are highly desired in the JDM enthusiast community. Of course, for anyone that walks up to this car thinking it’s the real thing, disappointment will soon follow.

Hopefully, they’ll appreciate the exceptional attention to detail found both in and out of this coupe though. The body features beautiful beige metallic paint that certainly doesn’t give away the monster sitting under the hood. Just as soon as some car lovers might get over the front clip modification, the 620-horsepower LS7 might upset them again.

This isn’t just any old LS7 either. The motor has been properly built with a bunch of supporting modifications. Diamond 12.5:1 pistons and Darton sleeves help to increase compression, ARP head bolts, while PAC racing severe duty valve springs, and FTI titanium intake valves all add to this robust build. The end result is 620 WHP, although the engine, which is hooked up to a six-speed manual gearbox, can probably handle even more power.

That might be the thing that bugs people most about a build like this. It’s not what many would expect, and just when you think you’ve got it figured out, there’s another surprise. It’s a bit unusual, but ultimately it’s very special. Even the most cynical enthusiast can appreciate the care and consideration that went into this build. The fit and finish both inside and out are fantastic.

And all of us, no matter how old and hardened we might become, can appreciate 620 hp trying to tear the rubber off of our rear wheels. So maybe this is exactly your cup of tea – and in that case, you might want to place a bid on Bring A Trailer where it’s up for sale right now.
