The Kia EV6 Is The 2022 European Car Of The Year In A First For The Korean Brand
Kia has scored their first-ever European Car Of The Year award with the EV6, beating close competition from the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric and the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Meanwhile, votes from Russian jury members were not counted, in response to the attacks on Ukraine.
New 2022 Nissan Juke Hybrid Gains Electrified Powertrain With An EV Mode
Nissan has unveiled the Juke Hybrid ahead of it going on sale in the summer. It uses the same powertrain that is already found in the Renault Clio and Captur E-Tech versions, with a 1.6-liter engine coupled to two electric motors. It’s good for 25 percent more power than the Juke’s turbocharged 1.0-liter engine, with up to a 20 percent fuel consumption saving on the combined cycle.
2023 Ford Everest: New Ranger-Based SUV Is Bigger, Comfier And More Capable
The new Ford Everest is revealed as the SUV version of the latest Ranger pickup truck for the Australian market, with versions also set for Asia and Africa, but not North America nor Europe. The exterior and interior have been redesigned, with the inside featuring a portrait-oriented 10.2-inch (or 12.4-inch in Platinum models) touchscreen.
Lucid Slashes Production Goal By Over A Third As A Result Of Supply Chain Issues
Lucid has revised downwards its production goals as it battles with supply-chain issues. Originally, Lucid had planned to build 20,000 units in 2022. Now, it’s between 30% and 40% less, with production set for around 12,000 to 14,000 vehicles. Despite the setback, Lucid seems like it’s full steam ahead on plans to increase its footprint. A new manufacturing facility was just announced and will be built in the brand’s home of Saudi Arabia, while more workers will be hired in the USA.
Lotus Type 132 Electric Crossover To Debut On March 29
A new era for Lotus is about to dawn, with the brand’s first-ever crossover SUV set for a reveal on March 29. With the launch date comes a new teaser, previewing the exterior, interior, and powertrain. We can see slender LED lighting, aerodynamic wheels with carbon fiber accents, and digital side mirrors. Inside there’s are paddles to change the drive modes and illuminated switchgear, while the powertrain will feature battery packs ranging from 92-120 kWh.
